Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - A well deserved 3.5/5

Harry Potter, the wizardry orphan returns with undoubtedly the most impressive installment of the J.K Rowling series. Alongside Ron and Hermione, Harry is on a quest to destroy the Horcuxes hoping to stall Lord Voldemort's immortality. The Deathly Hallows is an impressively directed film with beautiful photography and emotional elements filled with glee. Despite the films slow pace and Harry's rather annoying glasses, this fantasy epic is amazing and dark, and its cunning dialogue is certain to keep you entertained. Part 2 is certainly one to look forward too. A well deserved 3.5/5

Let me in - A steady 3/5

Let me in is a drama horror centered around Owen, a 12 year old boy bullied by his peers at school. He meets Abby, a light and soft young vampire of whom he grows to like. Elaborating on this friendship, Abby isn't so Human as Owen perceives her to be and despite her imperfections, he does everything he can to protect her. Let me in is a brilliantly depicted remake of the original ''Let the right one in'' (Swedish Film) and despite its slow paced dialogue, it keeps you entangled, wondering what is next. It may fail to deliver as a piece of story telling but its suspense makes Let me in; a steady engaging film. This film proves puppy love is under-rated ! 3/5

Red - A boring 2/5

Retired CIA operative, Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is living a normal life trying to form a long-distance relationship with Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker). Suddenly his retirement is in jeopardy when he is attacked by a hit squad, and in killing all the assassins Frank heads to Kansas City where Sarah stays to protect her. With assistance from Joe (Morgan Freeman) and Marvin (John Malkovich) Frank pursue's those trying to kill him. Red is a slightly amusing light hearted tale of ex CIA operatives, despite the impressive action sequences the story does drag and the humour is certainly an acquired taste. Given its cast, this film should of been better, alot better. a boring 2/5

Jackass 3D - A lacklustre 2.5/5

Johnny Knoxville and all his goons are back and this time in 3D. Famous for their amateur-ish stunting the crew embark on weird and wild antics that would make most andrenline-junkies proud. Unfortunately despite some brilliant brain dead comedy and a few grossed-out stunts, the Jackass gang are clearly running out of idea's and do fail to please. A lacklustre 2.5/5

Exit Through The Gift Shop: A banksy Film - A well achieved 4/5

Exit Through The Gift Shop: A banksy Film, tells the story of Thierry Guetta, an unknown frenchman who emigrates to Los Angeles. His fascination with filming leads him to record everything, everywhere.  Thierry, with his filming, lands in the hands of the world famous Banksy and is exposed to the new street art movment. Exit Through the gift shop is a pleasant and slightly humorous tale of the modern street art movement from the eyes of the one man who knows as much about street art as I do. This documentry, which does include Banksy, has raised doubts on its authenticity, however its too weirdly rich and pleasantry agreeable that you dont care about its honesty. As a piece of story telling, its simply brilliant. A well achieved 4/5

Inception - An Impressive 4/5

One of the most eagerley anticipated movies of 2010, Inception is a fast paced science-fiction thriller consisting of a highly impressive cast. Starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt (500 Days of Summer), Tom Hardy (Bronson), Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) and Ken Watanabe - backed by Christopher Nolan's direction; Inception certainly has the receipe to be one of the greatest movie's of the year. Dominic Cobb (Di Caprio) and his Point Arthur (Gordon-Levitt) specialise in corporate espionage through dreams and are hired to conduct a mission toppling a rival corporate firm. The story itself is fascinating and with its electric pace, if you nod off for 1 minute, you've missed the film completely due to its slight complexity. However the gripping cinematography and the intelligent yet straight-to-the-point dialogue culminating in one of the most intense final scenes your likely to see, Inception is certainly a candidate for film of the year, not only in dialogue as well as presentation, but its execution leaves you wanting more with its so-called 'open ending'. An articulate 4/5

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - Solid 4/5

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a fast paced, mind-blowing blast starring Michael Cera (Superbad) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (DeathProof). This film is nothing like you've seen before, despite its over elaborate and weak story; its eye-popping visuals, martial arts sequences, comedic and inventive dialogue makes it a film, you'll wishes to see over again. Scott Pilgrim (Cera) meets the girl of his dreams Romona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and he must defeat her seven evil ex's to truly win her heart. With action packed cameo's from Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) and Brandon Routh (Superman) Scott Pilgrim is an aggressive gargantuan ride that does not fail to disappoint. Its cheeky yet Arcade-Street-Fighter like captions which keep you engaged and entertained. The action sequences would make a jail-free Wesley Snipes proud and give Jet Li a run for his money. This is the film that Kick-Ass should of been, a solid 4/5 from me!

The Social Network - An oustanding 5/5

Based on the founding and exponential rise of Facebook, The Social Network tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) and how he became the world's youngest billionaire. The film focuses on his relationships with his friends and the infamous ConnectU lawsuit by the Winklevoss twins. The Ensembled cast keep you enthralled and engaged throughout; with Its emphasis on insincerety along with its dialogue, and delivery combined by its intelligent wittiness makes The Social Network a class act. Its amazing to think how this film ignites the story of a man who has changed communication forever; with the Direction of David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac) The Social Network receives an outstanding 5/5.

Saw 3D:The Final Chapter - A Medicore 1/5

Saw 3D: The Final Chapter is a mis-guided, weak, cliche'd and frankly a poor ending to probably the only film saga as big as the Police Academies! (though certainly better). The plot is as expected, Jigsaw is on the hunt but this time he targets the wife (Betsey Russell) of the original Jigsaw (Tobin Bell). The sub plot of the film consists of Dr. Gordon (Cary Elewes) who claims to be a Jigsaw survivor and now counselling the other victims of Jigsaw's traps. Only to be lead into a trap himself. The film's dialogue is as intelligent as Wayne Rooney and the prosthetics used for the films gory scenes are certainly under-budgeted and as fake as my grannys teeth. This film gets a 1/5 from me, the 1 purely due to the films predecessors.

The Book of Eli - A disappointing 2.5/5

The Book of Eli stars Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington in a promising tale set in what appears to be a Post Apocalyptic World. The plot is simple; Eli (Denzel) has the last known bible known to man and Carnegie (Oldman) seeks to posses the book, given the absolute power in which it holds and frankly this film fails to deliver from all angle's and at times drags along. One plus point is the films action sequences consisting of swords, guns and an Ice-cool Denzel Washington (Would you expect anything else?) although the tale itself does unwind slowly towards the end you get the feeling this is a film sending a message as to a piece of cinematic elegance. Does he get the book in the end? Well that remains to be seen but this film, given its cast was a major disappointment and gets a rather weak 2.5/5

Despicable me A pleasing 3.5/5

 
Despicable Me centre's around Gru, a Super Villian on a mission to become the worlds greatest criminal. Gru (Steve Carrell) biggest mission is to steal the moon and show the world his new found glory. An enjoyable 3D animation with breathtaking depth of colour; this is a flick perfect for the modern generation of 3D Movies. The story itself is rather elementary (As most animations) but the dialogue surpasses most and deserves a pleasing 3.5/5
