The Social Network - An oustanding 5/5

Based on the founding and exponential rise of Facebook, The Social Network tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) and how he became the world's youngest billionaire. The film focuses on his relationships with his friends and the infamous ConnectU lawsuit by the Winklevoss twins. The Ensembled cast keep you enthralled and engaged throughout; with Its emphasis on insincerety along with its dialogue, and delivery combined by its intelligent wittiness makes The Social Network a class act. Its amazing to think how this film ignites the story of a man who has changed communication forever; with the Direction of David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac) The Social Network receives an outstanding 5/5.

Saw 3D:The Final Chapter - A Medicore 1/5

Saw 3D: The Final Chapter is a mis-guided, weak, cliche'd and frankly a poor ending to probably the only film saga as big as the Police Academies! (though certainly better). The plot is as expected, Jigsaw is on the hunt but this time he targets the wife (Betsey Russell) of the original Jigsaw (Tobin Bell). The sub plot of the film consists of Dr. Gordon (Cary Elewes) who claims to be a Jigsaw survivor and now counselling the other victims of Jigsaw's traps. Only to be lead into a trap himself. The film's dialogue is as intelligent as Wayne Rooney and the prosthetics used for the films gory scenes are certainly under-budgeted and as fake as my grannys teeth. This film gets a 1/5 from me, the 1 purely due to the films predecessors.

The Book of Eli - A disappointing 2.5/5

The Book of Eli stars Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington in a promising tale set in what appears to be a Post Apocalyptic World. The plot is simple; Eli (Denzel) has the last known bible known to man and Carnegie (Oldman) seeks to posses the book, given the absolute power in which it holds and frankly this film fails to deliver from all angle's and at times drags along. One plus point is the films action sequences consisting of swords, guns and an Ice-cool Denzel Washington (Would you expect anything else?) although the tale itself does unwind slowly towards the end you get the feeling this is a film sending a message as to a piece of cinematic elegance. Does he get the book in the end? Well that remains to be seen but this film, given its cast was a major disappointment and gets a rather weak 2.5/5

Despicable me A pleasing 3.5/5

 
Despicable Me centre's around Gru, a Super Villian on a mission to become the worlds greatest criminal. Gru (Steve Carrell) biggest mission is to steal the moon and show the world his new found glory. An enjoyable 3D animation with breathtaking depth of colour; this is a flick perfect for the modern generation of 3D Movies. The story itself is rather elementary (As most animations) but the dialogue surpasses most and deserves a pleasing 3.5/5
